Graphic Design 1A/B

This course helps prepare students in careers associated with communication and graphic design. The focus will be “hands-on” assignments to stimulate creativity through a variety of assignments requiring learned artistic skill and processes that demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate through computer design. The class is structured around projects emphasizing elements and principles of design through digital imaging. A contribution of $15 is appreciated. UC Approved
GRAPHIC ARTS 1 A/B

This course allows students to experience careers associated with the printing industry. It provides hands-on training in operating various equipment and technology. Although the focus of the course is printing, students will also learn basic operation of Adobe InDesign CS2 (layout), basic operation of Adobe Illustrator CS2 (design), Adobe PhotoShop CS2 (color 56 theory), terminology of graphic communication, desktop publishing, scanner use, prepress, cutting, design, bindery operations and silkscreen. Students will create several logos, symbols, illustrations, business cards and notepads to take home! A contribution of $15 is appreciated.
GRAPHIC ARTS 2A/B

Prerequisite: Completion of Graphic Arts 1A or Graphic Design 1A
Graphic Arts 2 provides instruction and business experience within the printing industry. Throughout the semester, students will have assignments in silkscreen, offset lithography, and digital design. Additional assignments will provide experience with bindery, packaging, and order processing. A contribution of $25 is appreciated for necessary silkscreen materials.
