*Meet at Valencia High School (Near Theatre)

*Check in at Burbank or Long Beach Check in area – enter appropriate bus.

  depart VHS via school bus to Burbank and Long Beach airports

 

Burbank – New York (JFK)  JetBlue Flt. 350        depart @ 7:00am

Long Beach – New York (JFK) JetBlue Flt. 202    depart @ 7:15am

9:30pm

DOUBT ends. Walk back to hotel – you may return to your own room, or stay within the hotel.

 

10:30 – 10:45pm

“SWEENEY TODD,” “THE PRODUCERS,” and “CHICAGO end.

Walk back to the hotel. Return to your own room.

Friday April 14

Meet in Lobby – ROLL CALL **CONCERT CHOIR BRING MUSIC W/ YOU**

 

9 – 1PM

*NYC Tour 4 hour guided tour     (Drop off at Carnegie Hall)

            Midtown sightseeing

                Fifth Avenue, Trump Tower, UN, Grand Central Station. 

                Times Square-42nd Street.  Deco architecture, Chrysler Building.

Rockefeller Center walk; St. Patrick’s Cathedral  through Channel Gardens to Radio City Music Hall

                Central Park walk.  Lincoln Center, Upper Westside

                Lower Manhattan

                Greenwich Village - Washington Square.

Battery Park stop to view Statue of Liberty. 

                World Trade Center site, Winter Garden

Wall Street, New York Stock Exchange.  Lower Manhattan History. Trinity Church Chinatown, Mott Street.  Little Italy    Mulberry Street walk and shops.

**All tours allow time for 2-4 stops depending on traffic conditions and group

interest.  Typical stops include Central Park-Strawberry Fields; Rockefeller Center-5th Avenue;  Chinatown; Lower Manhattan for Statue view and/or World Trade Center site.

 

1 – 5PM CONCERT CHOIR – REHEARSAL @ Carnegie Hall  

1 – 5PM JAZZ CHOIR – free time to shop / sightsee above locations

                                     *Meet again at 5pm outside Carnegie Hall*

Small Journeys bus pick up immediately following rehearsal.

  DEPART for Chinatown Dinner

5:30pm Arrive at Chinatown Restaurant

Menu:

CHICKEN CORN SOUP, VEGETARIAN SPRING ROLL, BEEF WITH BROCCOLI, ROAST PORK MIXED VEGETABLES, SHRIMP CASHEW, SWEET AND SOUR CHICKEN, HOUSE SPECIAL FRIED RICE, VEGETARIAN LO MEIN.  SOFT DRINK, COOKIES/ FRUIT 

 

7:30pm Depart  for  Carnegie Hall  Rehearsal (Jazz Choir) and hotel drop off

*Concert choir evening free with “Rehearsal” Chaperones*

 

8:00 PM:  Jazz Choir - Orientation, Rehearsal, & VoicesIowa Performance followed by transfer back to the hotel

 

11:30PM: LIGHTS OUT!

Saturday April 15^th

 

6-8:00AM

*Breakfast within hotel or with chaperone

Depart hotel to Carnegie Hall  - Transportation in Lobby. – ALL CHOIRS

 

9AM

CONCERT CHOIR

9:00 AM – 12:30 PM: Chorus/Piano Rehearsal

 

2:30 PM – 4:00 PM:  Chorus/Orchestra/Soloists Rehearsal

 

 

4-5pm Free time in Carnegie Hall and Surrounding area.

9:00 AM – 9:30 AM:  Vocalizing, Vocal Jazz History and Listening

9:30 AM – 10:00 AM:  Solo Jazz Singing Workshop

10:10 AM – 11:40 AM:  Individual Group Performances and Critique

11:40 AM – 12:00 NOON:  Mass Chorus Rehearsal

1:30 PM – 2:00 PM:  Jazz History and Listening

2:00 PM – 2:30 PM:  Solo Jazz Singing Workshop

2:30 PM – 3:00 PM:  Improvisation Workshop

3:10 PM – 4:40 PM:  Individual Group Performances and Critique
