The Valencia High School Hip Hop Team is one of the most active groups on campus. Unlike most teams, we are a year-round program. (Students can not drop the team mid-year) Due to class scheduling logistics, we will only accept students during the initial sign up process in May 2018.
Step 1: Attend the Parent Meeting / Orientation on May 24
Step 2: Register for Hip Hop Summer Athletics through ASB by June 1 / or if you can't attend our summer athletic program you must contact Mr. Broers (email@example.com) by June 1 http://www.valenciaasb.com/summer-athletics/
Step 3: Maintain a 2.0 GPA and a positive attitude
Step 4: Arrange for a physical. Physicals can be done at Valencia High School in room 707 on May 21, 2018, at 2:00 - 5:30 PM. Cost $25. You can also go to your own physician. (See the "Physical Information" tab to the left) Please try to have your physicals done ASAP. For the safety of all students, we would prefer all physicals to be complete by the beginning of June.
Step 5: After summer practices begin, Mr. Broers will have small meetings with EVERY family on the team. After we have our roster we will begin making appointments during the summer time. The goal is to discuss the team expectations and answer any questions parents may have about the Hip Hop Team. This year we want to maintain an open line of communication with all of the stakeholders. In order to maintain the Hip Hop program, a donation goal has been set per student on the team. This goal will be discussed during this meeting.

WHO CAN JOIN HIP HOP?
Hip Hop offers a unique opportunity for personal growth, leadership, and involvement in diverse activities. The Hip Hop Team welcomes all students whether they have had prior dancing experience or not.
IS HIP HOP JUST LIKE TAKING ANOTHER PE CLASS?
NO, WE ARE NOT A PE CLASS OR A SUBSTITUTE FOR PE. Being apart of the Hip Hop Team gives you graduation PE Credit credit but should not be looked at as "another PE class". The Hip Hop Team is called an "extracurricular team". All extracurricular teams at Valencia High School (ex. Cheer, Football, Baseball, etc) require students to manage academic responsibilities, along with their teams after school and weekend commitments. Before signing up, please make sure you are committed to the extra hours practicing, after-school performances and required field trips and fundraisers.
WHEN DO I HAVE TO REGISTER FOR THE SUMMER ATHLETICS PROGRAM BY OR WHAT IF I AM GONE ALL SUMMER?
WHAT AFTER REGISTERING HIP HOP IS NOT RIGHT FOR ME?
The refund deadline for all camps is June 8, 2018. Refund requests must be submitted in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org by that date. A $25 processing fee will be deducted from all camp refunds. If you would like to drop the program after June 8 you have until Friday, August 3. We will notify counselors prior to registration that you do not want to continue with the program. After August 3 students are committed to staying on the Hip Hop Team for an entire year. If you plan on doing additional sports / extracurricular programs along with hip-hop please make sure to talk with Mr. Broers to set up a plan.
