Health Professions 1st Semester (Period 2) Assignments

 COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Exploring Health Careers is designed to familiarize students with the various U.S. Health Care, careers in the medical professions, professionalism. Students will learn skills necessary for their healthcare career pathway including; working with others, communication skills, legal and ethical responsibilities, cultural considerations in the healthcare industry, problem solving, decision making, accepting personal responsibility and self-management.

As part of instruction, this course reinforces skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and mathematics and requires their application in workplace situations. Integrated throughout the course are foundation standards, which include communication, ethics, interpersonal/team skills, critical thinking and problem solving, safety, technology, and other essential skills. Students are given opportunities to demonstrate personal qualities, including responsibility, self-confidence, and self-management.
