WORK PERMIT INFORMATION


WORK PERMITS ISSUANCE FOR SUMMER 2025

🌟🌟Please note🌟🌟

  • If a student has satisfactory grades and attendance, the work permit issued over the summer will expire on August 29, 2026.

  • If the student has a GPA below 2.0 or excessive absences, they will be issued a work permit for the summer only, expiring on August 29, 2025. This will require them to return to their school site for renewal.


Steps to Obtaining a Work Permit

Step 1: Secure Employment
Students must secure a job before obtaining a work permit.

 
Step 2: Download the work permit application 

Step 3: Complete the application

  • Students: Fill out “Minor's Information” and “School Information” sections.

  • Employers: Complete and sign the “For Employer to Complete” section.

  • Parents/Guardians: Sign the form to provide consent.

Step 4: Request an Appointment
Email [email protected] to request a work permit. An auto-reply will provide appointment instructions.

Let the receptionist know you are there for a work permit and be sure to bring your ID.

 
WORK PERMIT ISSUANCE DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR
  • Work permits must be obtained by any student under the age of 18 who has a job.
  • A student needs a new work permit every time they begin a new job.
  • All work permits expire at the start of the school year and must be renewed even if this student has not changed jobs.
  • Entertainment industry work permits must be obtained in the registrar's office.
 
Instructions for Obtaining a Work Permit:
    1. Get a WORK PERMIT FORM
    2. Complete the “Minor Information” section
    3. Have your supervisor at work complete the “Employer section”.  Make sure they sign it!
    4. Have a parent/guardian sign the application.
    5. Bring the completed WORK PERMIT FORM to Mrs. Elhilu in the counseling office.
    6. You will have to return in 24-48 hours to sign and pick-up your completed work permit.
    7. Work permits are not produced on the spot.

  • Student has poor school attendance
    Student has poor school achievement
    Student has discipline issues at school
